Is it too late if I screwed up freshmen year?

My gpa on a scale of 1-100 as of the end of third quarter of my freshmen year is 85.333. Does this mean I’m completely screwed or is this gpa relatively mobile. If I were to finish off 4th quarter with a quarter average of 95-ish would I be able to pull it up to around an 88? Also, if I were to finish off sophomore year and junior year 90-95ish would my final gpa be above a 90? Sorry im being very vague here just worried and confused
Also lets say my gpa comes out to a 93. My SATs are in the high 1400s out of 1600 (the new one I would be taking) My SAT II grades are in the 700s out of 800. Now for what I already do and plan to continue doing: clubs would include DECA, Mock Trial, community action. Next year im hoping to also start doing programming and robotics. I play a sport every season of the year; tennis, basketball, and track and field. For classes, I take relatively challanging ones along with a bunch of electives. This year I took digital darkroom, sports and entertainment marketing, college marketing, improvisation, and introduction to engineering. Next year, for electives I am taking principles of business management, introduction to programming and java, journalism, and beginning acoustical guitar. Im also trying to take on as many internships as I could and I will be going to Africa to volunteer over the summer with GLA.
Also, I’m asian so will that also drag me down a lot? I was just wondering about my chances with schools that are good but not ivy league kind of good. Ex: university of michigan, Duke, cornell, ucla etc

Cornell is an Ivy…

If you’re still a freshman, I wouldn’t worry too much about your GPA, test scores, etc. until junior year. I mean, don’t slack, but also don’t worry too much. As long as you’re taking the most challenging load you can handle and pulling A’s and B’s, you should have no trouble getting into some good schools. My IB coordinator always says that colleges really don’t care about a 4.0 if you have no character–so work on being more than just your grades!

You should be able to calculate what your gpa would be under different scenarios. You can still get into some great schools, but I wouldn’t say to not care until your junior year. Your entire gpa will be looked at, it’s just that an upward trend is helpful. So look at it this way, go up from here on out and you should get into good schools.

Try to get as much As and Bs as possible through out high school in a rigorous schedule. If you want a high ranked school you don’t want to be playing the grade catchup grade end of sophomore/ all of Junior year. Your ECs are fine; do what you like don’t try to impress colleges. It sounds like your trying to do too much (music, robotics, debate, humanitarian trip to Africa?)-- your going to overwhelm your self in the long run, hate some of the stuff your doing, not get to do what you actually like to your full potential, and ultimately make a minimal impact on your college future. Upward grade trend is the main thing ( is you have an Aish average for the rest of HS they’ll see that, admission officers see that and aren’t going to think your a worse student than you are). Your grades look like they will improve to be fine for what colleges your aiming for. Relax and try to find stuff you truly like (and it’s okay to like lots of things! It just seems to me at a glance your overwhelming yourself with electives and ECs for colleges which is so unnecessary, stressful, and ultimately could lead to you missing going full out on the few activities you truly love).
