Is it too late to apply?

????

10 char

Not too late; you will, however, be considered in the second pool of applicants (not the first pool - ie those who submitted their applications by the November 30th priority date), and the competition is tougher.

Its not too late to apply? When is the second pool of apps due?

Penn State has a "modified" rolling admission....it uses applicant pools. Applications received between August 1 and November 30th are considered the first pool of applicants...there is no advantage to having an app complete Aug 4th vs. Nov 28th....they are all within the same pool....after November 30th the criteria increases...the second pool of applicants is Dec 1st to Dec 31st....after December 31st the criteria can increase again.

Unless you have stellar stats, I would shoot for December 31st.

yeah i have uh 2000/2400 (super score)

1360 (M+V)

3.1 uW 4.0 W (our school has a different scale)

Top 40%

A LOT of ECS and awards (national, and state level for business)

Competitive Highschool

Out of State

Applying to smeal

Ugh i should have sent it earlier...

FYI, PSU doesn't superscore SATs; they take the best score from one sitting. Good luck!

GET YOUR APPLICATIONS IN ASAP!

PSU is rolling. The sooner you get your app in, the sooner you get a reply. I know kids who had a decision back in September because they got theirs in so early. I put mine in on Nov. 15th and got a decision on Saturday. GET IT IN SOON!

Hey, ar, PSU is "modified" rolling, which means applicants don't necessarily hear back in the order in which they submit their applications; it just means that as long as you submit an application by Nov 30th, you are in the first pool of applicants to be considered and given priority over those who are in later pools. This was in answer to a question I asked during an on-line admissions chat. My son submitted his application mid-August, his school submitted all his forms by mid-September, and he just heard back today ... accepted UP fall '09 with a 3.74 uw GPA and 2030 SATs. In any event, isleep2late should submit sooner rather than later to at least get in the second pool of applicants.
