Is it too late to ask for a letter of recommendation?

Okay, so I've been stupid. Originally I wasn't going to apply during the early action time limit, but now I've changed my mind and if I ask the teacher for a letter of recommendation, the teacher will only have 15 days (Deadline is Nov. 1).

Should I just stick to the regular decision time interval instead?

Thanks for helping.

You should ask for a letter of rec and explain your situation. I’m pretty sure your teacher will try her best to help you.

Just remember, they can always say no, so be sure and have a backup plan.

Surest way to get a generic bland letter is to ask for a rush job. They may feel helping you is meeting the deadline. I would present your situation to the teacher. Acknowledge your gaff and ask them if waiting and giving them more time to prepare the letter would help them provide a more accurate evaluation of you.

Like the people, I would recommend approaching your teachers and explaining your situation. Worst case scenario is that they reject your request and that way, you’ll have more time to ask a different teacher or come up with another plan. Just go for it, there’s no hurting you.

Even for RD application, you should have asked your teachers by now. It is within 3 months away. Indeed, my D asked her teachers 6 months ago. Some teacher may have a quota for the number of recommendations. In any case, you should ask them now no matter it is for EA or RD. If they are okay that you can do EA.
