Is it too late and/or worth it to ask for this recommendation?

Hi,

I have an application due next Saturday, October 15th. I have everything together and am looking things over to see if there’s anything I can add.

I’m considering asking my boss of a year and a half for a personal letter of recommendation. I work at a tutoring center and know her very well, but have not brought up recommendation letters to her at all. Just looking for some opinions, but do you think it would be worth it to ask her (I know, it’s not the nicest deadline) to write me a letter within the next week to submit with my application?

I think you could ask her, but you should not expect her to say yes- It is cutting it very close to the deadline.

If you think the boss can add something to the application then you can ask – but it is unreasonable to expect the recommendation will be done by the 10/15 deadline. However you can send it to any other schools you apply to.

Ask for the rec. Use it for schools other than the 10/15 deadline.
