I've heard from many people that if you want an internship for the summer, you need to arrange it by at least March.

Is this true? Or, if I were to call a few places now, do you think I would have a good chance at getting some?

And I am going to call this week...I just want to get a sense of the truth over what to expect.

it depends what kind of internship you want.

if you live ina major city, getting an internship can be as easy as going on your local craigslist. o rg webstie for example http://losangeles.craigslist.org would be for los angeles and just typing in internship on the search bar under employment section

It might be too late...but it doesn't hurt to try anyway. There is always a company out there that can use a little extra help. Try using internship search engines like internshipprograms.com or cragslist to see if a lot of positions are still being offered in your field.
