I have taken the ACT once. I got a 33 (34E 30M 33R 33S 23W).
How much of a difference in college admissions would it make for me to raise my score to a 34?
Since I am already in the 99th percentile is it really worth all the practice to just raise my score just a point or two?
I have a 4.2 GPA.
I will probably major in science or engineering in college.
Thanks so much for the advice
The only way it’s really worth taking again is if any of the colleges you’re interested in offer money for C34 or higher. You’ll have to check with each college directly.
These colleges are not going to reject you because you got “only” C33. They’ll look at other parts of your application to decide if you’re their type of student.
Thanks for the response
Considering that engineering programs emphasize high math scores do you think it is worth re-taking it to get my math score up?
@ElyStuart10 One option would be to take the Math Subject SAT test in June. That certainly would be a plus for the engineering programs. You may want to check with the programs to see how much of an importance they give to the SAT math subject test. It is a shorter test and you won’t have to redo the whole ACT.
