Is it worth it?

Doesn't affect it.

Basically, you are either admitted or not into the college (without much regards to your major). If admitted, they send you your "you're in" letter and then send your app to JMC and then they decide whether or not you'll major in JMC. And that isn't really based on any specific criteria, but more on whether there is still room in the college.

If there isn't room do they just put you into the normal University and you can transfer into JMC later on? Or how does that work.

Yup. As long as you're in, they let you into the regular Uni. Many people drop their freshman year, so if you don't get in, I wouldn't be too worried. However, I don't know anybody who has gotten into the Uni and then rejected from JMC yet. I'm not sure entirely what they would do with your major though. You'd have to email them about that.

Alright, well thanks a lot. I will definitely apply. I'm hoping I'm not toooo late with applying, after all this research I really am more interested in MSU than any other school. Should have applied when I first wanted to back in October!

It definitely is a bit late for Madison apps, but I would be surprised if you couldn't transfer into it before the start of classes (request Case as your dorm when you pay the deposit)

Thank you, so you think I should still go for it and apply? My mom finally gave me the okay and I plan on sending in my app tomorrow.

Yes. good luck!

Romani said it all, definitely go for it and apply :) Good luck

Thank you all SOOO much!!

All of you OOS students who are scared you won't get in- listen.
I applied OOS- a highly competitive/populated county.
SAT 1170/1810 GPA 3.87
I got in.
Chill! You all are fine

When'd you apply though? I feel like the whole applying this late would be a problem.

i applied 10/27.

I wouldn't sweat over it being so late, apply.
