Is it worth paying full tuition for CSOM?

I think that means 52,000 a year?

to be specific Finance will be my major

what are your other options. my gut is to say yes, because that tuition is also paying for location...and Boston has plenty of finance internships.

Lehigh business school 48,000 a year

Penn State business school 33,000 a year

My dad doesn't want to pay 50,000+ a year at BC

How do I convince him it's worth it?

Over those other 2 options I posted above

Uh well you start by saying " Lehigh is only 2000-4000 dollars less" ;-). Also you should try listing the pros of all three school as well as the cons. Your situation is similiar to mine. I was accepted to Penn State and Boston College. I want to go to BC:CSOM for finance. My mom is thinking about the $50,000+ a year and whether its worth it. UGH!

Dear LilWayneFan : How do you convince him that it is worth it? Offer to pay every dime of your own money over the next four years to be part of the BC experience. There is no greater statement than the time honored tradition of "putting your money where your mouth is".

Well are you sure BC's business school is better than Lehigh's?

How do I pay it myself?

BC CSOM is def better than lehighs... plus BC can offer u a lot more opportunities, alumni connections, jobs etc.... just tell your parents all that....

you can always promise your parents to pay them back when u get a job from..... jpmorgan chase or something....

^^^

thanks, I guess I can eliminate Lehigh, which is what I was thinking anyways

But what about Penn State's Smeal being almost 20,000 a year cheaper?

Smeal supposedly has great internships, networking, and alumni connections as well

I would be saving $70,000+ total through 4 years going to Smeal

Is BC still worth over that much more over PS Smeal???

Lil Wayne fan

Lehigh is out in the middle of nowhere, so that being said, there is no comparison between the BC campus location and Bethlehem. It is a huge difference in tuition for BC, I have a son that is also deciding between BC and a few other schools that offered merit scholarships.

Penn State has a great reputation, it is a huge school with lot to offer, but it is not anywhere near a city.

Good luck to you in your decision.

BC has one of the best alumni connections in the nation.... u will probably get internships from alumni.... and networking from alumni.... maybe u could look up where graduates go to from each school and find their median salary and see how long u will hv to pay bak your school debt from each school.... u would probably pay off penn state's tuition debt faster... but imagine if u r willing to be in debt for an extra yr or two.... BC is a lot better..... plus.... your parents wont charge u interest would they?
