I know it is very important from the perspective of colleges that students take rigorous classes (honors, AP, etc...) I am approaching my senior year and plan to take a few AP classes. My school does not offer Micro or Macro economics, the two courses I am extremely interested in, but meanwhile I am looking into independent online courses. My best subjects are math and science, with math being my favorite. My school offers AP Stat which I plan to take. However, I am also possibly interested in taking AP Bio, for I really enjoyed bio when I took it freshman year, and upon reading the course outline, it looks like something I could be interested in. However, I plan to major in business (leaning towards Accounting but I plan to go in as business undecided). Would taking AP Bio be a complete waste of time? I understand that it shows I challenged myself, but I do not want to take the course, receive the college credits (hopefully), and then find out they have no use since I need more mathematics and business college credits to graduate college. All of the schools I am looking into accept the credits for AP Bio so that is not my concern, I just don't want to receive X amount of credits that ultimately have no purpose. Thanks!
Also possibly considering self-teaching myself Bio, but again, do not want to waste my time if it will not help me going in to the business department.

Actually it makes a lot of sense for a future business major to take AP Bio. Colleges accept AP credit more willingly for subjects that you do not have to build on. They typically will encourage (or make) a freshman student retake the college level course if if is a subject that you have to take higher level courses in. For example, my daughter is a pre pharmacy student. She took AP chem and got a 5 - her college highly suggested that she take entry level chem again because she has to build on chemistry. But they very willingly took her AP calc score and APUSH score for credit because she will never take history or calculus again. So as a business major you will never have to take biology again. Hope that makes sense.

Okay most of it did make sense. Thank you so much. But I got confused when you said they unwillingly took her APUSH and Calc classes again. So because she did not have to take those classes again for her major, they did not care or want her to retake them? How come it was unwillingly then? I don’t want to apply to a school, have them say the AP bio credits don’t count, it was a waste of time and then make me have to take the X amount of credits normally awarded over, but in a course relating to my subject. Thanks

@al3xisnic0le they said VERY willingly not UNwillingly, most have misread. No school will make you retake the credits if you get credit for bio. Bio will most likely get you out of a gen ed requirement.

great thank you so mch
