I am currently enrolled in university of michigan, and am still waiting to hear on my admission to Ross Business School. I am fixed on studying business and i dont know of any ways to pursue a business career with just an undergrad degree in liberal arts. My counselor said that i would need a masters. My question is: if i were to be rejected by ross, would i be better of enrolling at a different state public school, like michigan state, and then apply to their business school, which is much easier to get into.

What specifically are you interested in business? There is a pretty wide range of choices between, say, marketing and finance.

You could major in economics or applied math, and be on track to work in the business world, even though these might not be business majors as such.

What is your major now?

My major right now is psychology, and i am intending on majoring in marketing if i get into the b school.

Your counselor is right, you would most likely need a Masters, like an MBA or something to go on. I suggest staying at UMich and majoring in, as the previous poster said, Math, Applied Math, Economics, even Psychology, but take courses that would get you into a good MBA program.

Personally, I wouldn’t go from UMich to MSU, but that’s because I know I want at least a masters.
