Is Marketing a good major?

<p>I was wondering if marketing is a good major. Everyone seems to be majoring in it so maybe it's not such a strong major anymore? Thank you</p>

<p>One word, NO. Pick something else like accounting, finance, economics, CS, engineering, IT…etc…</p>

<p>Depends how you define good and bad. If you define it by how easy it to get a job compared to other majors. It’s definitely below majors like accounting, finance, economics, CS, and engineering like NYCguy2020 said. There’s definitely enough job outlook if you really enjoy it as well as chances to move up in the company; junior marketing professional to director of marketing. </p>

<p>From what i’ve learned of marketing majors who graduated recently (local), they either got a job from their internship or didn’t get a job from their internship and are struggling.</p>

  1. Do you enjoy marketing and wish to do marketing work?[ul] Do a marketing major[/ul]
  2. Are you picking a major solely based on job availability?[ul] It’s not a great major[/ul]
  3. Are you picking a major solely based on salary?[ul] It’s not a great major unless you are really good and work for a big company as their director of marketing.[/ul]</p>
