I got a 27 on the ACT.
I know it's not dazzling
but is it a ok score to expect a decent chance to get in?

Test scores are optional at Wake.

I wouldn't submit it...

They only accepted the ACT for like a year, but their range was 28-31 middle 50% if I remember correctly.

No. Remember Wake Forest is not requiring ACT/SAT scores this year. Just spend a lot of time on your application. Look over it 10000 times. Also, try and go for an interview. I went and I think it helped.

I was accepted to Wake Forest yesterday.

Mahmoud Ahmed
Wake Forest '13

if you have a strong base of extracurriculars and ap classes, as well as a good gpa and class rank, you still stand a shot (as far as my reserch would prove). id agree with everyone else that you should probably refrain from sending in your scores, or possibly try taking the sat, you could do better on it than the act. you can still apply for the october 14th test, the deadline is in 5 days

hey by the way to mahmoud, how did you already get accepted at wake and do you have any suggestions for others of us trying to make the cut? my gpa and class rank are very unimpressive, but im latino, and hope i have a shot at getting in.

Hey. Just spend a lot of time on your application. Also, if your grades are low I think Wake Forest won't be the place for you. I think they are looking to increase their diversity but for those who have the grades. So don't use the race card. Go for an interview as well. I have a great GPA. Also, I know my teachers very well.

^ Eww with the condescending attitude Mahamed.

Clarification -- the next ACT test date is Oct. 25; the regular deadline for registration was yesterday but you can still do the late registration for additional $$.

They've extended the regular testing registration date to the 22nd according to the website. :)

Thanks mahmed002 and congratulations! I wish I could be the member of '13 too!! I finished writing the first draft of the essays (10 'in brief' questions right?) on August and now spending more and more time on it.
Georgeanne and CBBBlinker, I took the September ACT already but thanks for your advice!

mahmed...how did you already get in? I was under the impression that ED was the first chance to get accepted. It is only September!!

^^Wake will accept ED apps upon the completion of Jr year, and provides a rolling notification to those early-early apps.
