I am an international applicant with a 1280 on the new SAT and decent academics. Some advice doing it, others say I’m not good enough for these universities . I’m currently applying to good public schools. Do I have a shot at the ones like UIUC, Washington seattle and UT Austin? You can find other information about my profile on other threads.
SAT is just one criterion, what else do you have to offer? Not many are going to search threads to hunt for your info.
I am a grade 12 Indian CBSE student. NEW SAT score 1280, Toefl 98, 9th and 10th marks: 9.6 cgpa (92 %), 11th marks 75 %, decent Ec’s (about 10-15 things). MAJOR: BUSINESS.
I can tell you about Texas. Instead of UT Austin or UTD, try schools that don’t get as many international applicants UT SAN Antonio, UNT, UD, Texas Tech etc.

So this means I probably won’t be able to get through UT Austin, Dallas or A & M.
Give us some more background info. Race, GPA, is English first language, course load, intended major… It all matters.
I can tell you this. If UT aust judged just on SAT, you wouldn’t get in.
@VardaanMehra It doesn’t look like it from the information you provided but you never know. I have met international students who would never get in if they were local.
What about university of washington seattle for a business major? Marks are in the 90’s and 80’s. In the tip quarter of my class. No gpa system in my country. I don’t need aid. Race: Indian/Asian.
