SAT Score:

Math 800 Reading 520 Writing 670 -- aggregated 1990

ACT score

Math 34 Reading 29 English 24 Science 21 --- average 27

I am an Asian (Chinese), which puts me on among the minority group.
Are my scores sufficient for minority candidate?

I am considering to take either SAT or ACT once more in June, right after SLS.

Which one would look better?
raising reading score from 520 to about 620 on SAT
or
rasing English and science from 24,21 to about 28, 27, respectively on ACT ?

Thank you for your help in advance.

In terms of admissions, I do not think that being Asian really qualifies you as a minority. I believe that they consider African-American and Hispanic candidates to be minorities. Also, You should get your SAT english up to a 600 at least. I would really aim for a 650. In addition, your Science ACT should be about a 27+ and your English ACT should really be 30+. Although your math scores are very good, I would be shocked if they took you with a 520 eng score. You also need a good gpa, sports and leadership positions to be competitive for admission.

Good Luck!

I am currently maintaining 3.5GPA in highly competitive high school ranked as one of the top 10 schools.

Since my school does not “rank”, I believe GPA does not mean a lot.

I believe my “estimated rank” can be done thru my SAT or ACT score.
Therefore, frankly , I don’t really put on a lot of efforts in GPA

oh. and when should i ask a nomination to my MOC/senator?
I got a letter from my MOC even though i didn’t write any letter to him yet…
I wonder how I got this… but… it is outdated. it says “this nomination request form should be returned to MOC office by november 1st, 2008”.
I am not sure what I should do in this case…

also, should i request forms from my senators now?
