Hey there,

I was wondering how hard it is to get into NYU with my high school stats, they are as follows:

GPA: Unweighted: 3.38
Weighted : 4.0
All honors courses since freshman year, I am a junior right now.
Over 50 hours of community service so far.
I am part of Key Club, National Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, Drama Club, and Rooter Club.

My sophomore year was the hardest for me, since i got 2 C's first semester because of family issues and financial reasons my family was living paycheck to paycheck, but second semester i got 4 A's and 2 B's with 4 honors classes.

This year I am taking 2 AP classes and 1 honors and I am part of my advanced choir.
Next year, Senior year, I will be taking 4 AP's.

I am going to start taking practice SAT's in my library and i will be traking the PSAT on wednesday.

Thank you for reading haha I know it is a lot

def reach as of now. try to work on your GPA and get good test scores and you should be good.

thank you very much, I feel much more in control this year. Its just that first semester of sophomore year. As of right now I have straight A’s and a B in Honors Calculus. I am aiming for a 3.5 or 3.6 overall GPA by the time the year ends.

Can your family now afford the $55K plus per year? Getting in is one thing, but getting aid if you’re not a top student is unlikely.

yes i know that paying will be expensive, but I am currently applying to music scholarships, academic, and i will be in need of financial aid. My parents said they could help me with some of it, but i have to come up with the rest in either loans or scholarships.

Then you should probably not make NYU high on your list. It’s not worth the debt it will most probably require. Please, please, don’t be one of the many posting here in April asking where they can get huge loans to attend NYU.
