I have a 3.9, a 31 on the ACT, and pretty solid extracurriculars. It's not so much getting in that's worrying me, it's more about if I'll be happy if I decide to go. I've done my research and the only US institutions that offer comparable programs in Global Health are Tulane, Duke, and Georgetown. NYU has always been my dream school, but lately I've been doubting my choice. Has/does anyone else felt/feel this way?

Also, I want to apply ED, but I'm uncomfortable with the binding agreement.

You said NYU is your dream school, and seems like you have been working really hard in the 4 years of high school… Why do you doubt your own choice at almost the last moment? If that’s really your favorite college, go for it. :)

Have you visited NYU? Very important to do so if at all possible. I would say that is true for any school you are applying to ED. Tulane and Duke are a very different “vibe” and GTown is as well to some extent. No one but you can decide if NYU is right for you but it would help if you provided more info on what you are looking for, or don’t want, in a college experience so that others can respond to some specific inquiries.

I agree with lightingmom. You should probably visit NYU and see if you would like to go there as a student. If NYU is your dream school, you shouldn’t be hesitant about applying ED.Perhaps, you should reconsider your choice if that makes you feel uncomfortable.Anyway, good luck!

I think you should definitely visit if you can. Also, take advantage of the internet, and talk to NYU students - get all the glamor and all the dirt on NYU out of them. Talk to kids who love NYU, and talk to kids who despise it.

Also, if you aren’t 100% about ED, don’t do it. I know you are considering it to boost your chances, but it honestly won’t boost your chances all the much. So I’d go RD, and continue doing research.
