I was accepted to UT about a month and a half ago, but still haven't fully decided to attend. However, I'm probably going to end up going there and am leaning heavily towards it. Because of the fact that I wasn't sure I didn't sign up for orientation or put down my deposit.. my question is does anybody know how full the orientations are? It doesn't really matter which one I go to, I just don't want them all to be full and miss out on the experience!

I know for sure the orientation June 6-8 is full since because someone I know tried to sign up and it wouldn’t let her.

Yeah I figured the early ones would be, but I’m hoping the later ones aren’t. There just so many people going to UT haha

I hear the advantages to going to the earlier orientation is that you will probably get better class times and/or better professors.

I believe that the enrollment deposit is refundable before May 1. You can sign up for orientation but you don’t have to pay for it until mid-April. If you want to sign up now just to hold a spot, that may be a good idea. If you do pay for orientation by the mid-April date and for some reason can’t go, I believe if you cancel 8 days in advance, that amount is also refundable.

if you pay for a spot for a later one…but an earlier one opens up…could you switch to it?

thank you, mecsquared!

I was just able to switch my orientation date to the June 6-8 one… I’m assuming that spots opened up?!

@xcloudy

that sounds great!

alrighty sounds good.

just gotta wait for my acceptance letter then sign up for orientation and keep checking everyday for an open spot on an earlier date

Yes, the key is to keep refreshing. You’re just basically waiting for some poor soul who goes “Whoops! Can’t make that date…”

Good luck!
