<p>Hey everyone, I wanted to know if any of you signed up for the 6/20-6/23 session for Summer Orientation and would be willing to take your place and opt for a later session. The reason is that my friends all signed up for the 6/20 session and when I tried to sign up, there were no more spots. I know that this is a selfish request, but please. <p>So this summer orientation thing, if we signed up for a later one (like in July) does that mean that we wouldn't get the classes we want?</p>
<p>No - they reserve a certain amount of spots per class section so that that very thing does not happen. For instance, if there are 6 orientations and a class has 120 seats, only 20 people from each orientation could sign up for the class.</p>
<p>hmmm hey the orientation thingy. is this the one u have to pay a hundred dollars or somethng? is this mandatory? no right?</p>
<p>it is not mandatory but STRONGLY suggested - otherwise you dont get any classes you want and you know nothing about UT</p>

<p>There is a two-day orientation on 8/23 and 8/24 for those who can't make it to a June or July session. You can still sign up for classes than but you will probably end up with 8 a.m. or 4 p.m. classes.</p>

<p>From what I gathered talking to them, if there is a class that you need such as a required freshman class for engineering majors, the counselors can "force" you into a class. The drawback would be that you could start classses at 8 a.m., have no or few classes in the middle of the day, and not finish your classes until 5 p.m. or later</p>
