So I applied to Berkeley, UCLA, Irvine & San Diego..

In a month i'm planning on leaving to China for 6 months, not sure of when i'll return...August at the latest, though am told that orientation is important and the earlier the better assuming i'll get the classes I first wanna get in.

Upon doing a little research it seems that Irvine already has their orientation dates up, ranging from 7/23/11-8/20/11. San Diego's dates are not yet posted but it seems that I can still sign up for classes online, which is awesome considering i'll be in a differen continent. Berkeley's are between Early June-Mid July, while UCLA's aren't yet posted.

My friend also went to an abroad trip which overlapped his orientation date at UC Irvine. You have to send them a picture of your plane ticket to prove that you’re going abroad, and they’ll let you do an online orientation.

Hi xViral, upon further research i’ve also discovered Berkeley has a specific section upong being accepted allowing me to jot down my lack of attendance to their Orientation, with an area to explain why.

Currently however, UC San Diego is the one school most shy about this, as I have no information regarding how their orientaion process is like.

As for UCLA, i’m giving them a call on monday.
