Is Penn off campus housing cheaper??

Do you save money sharing off campus housing??

Not everything off-campus is cheaper, but much of it is.

Everyone I’ve talked to says even though it’s not mandatory, stayin in Quad should not be missed. Any thoughts??

How representative is your sample size?

I suspect that, if you talked to every member of the freshman class, you’d find more diversity in responses. The Quad is a very loud and social place, and I’m sure some people would hate it. (Thank goodness women couldn’t live in the Quad in prehistoric days when I was a freshman. We also had a separate coordinate college and separate admissions, too. And Ben Franklin delivered our admission letters on kites because he hadn’t invented the post office yet.)

Read about all your options. There are many. If a living/learning program or a thematic house sounds interesting, investigate further. If a house dean or faculty master sounds like someone you’d like to get to know, do some more research. You don’t have to be a lemming.
