i'm hoping my essays will stand out, and i'm counting on some good recs...

Take your parents' advice.

You are at a 219 on the Academic Index--definitely in the ballpark for admittance to Princeton and you scored 5 on all your APs. You have good ECs including awards. Applying ED is definitely worth a shot in your case.

(If you increase your SAT I score to 2300, that would up your AI to 225 to 226.) Anything above 230 is almost an automatic admit--so this would give you a really good chance if your essay is good and doesn't make you come across as egotistical or as "pollyannish" (someone who is very naive).

Good luck to you.

definetely not, not at all. But it may be a risk though. Why not apply to Cornell early, Georgetown, or other known schools but with a higher acceptance rate. Perhaps John Hopkins, U Chicago, or Northwestern?

But increase your SAT to at least a 2200

"Why not apply to Cornell early, Georgetown, or other known schools but with a higher acceptance rate. Perhaps John Hopkins, U Chicago, or Northwestern?"

Because he's too good for those schools!!! I think you can definitely get into Ivy League schools even if you don't get into Princeton. Go for Princeton. Follow your dream.

Its something that I wouldnt do, sorry to say. I would rather go to a good school that has a higher acceptance rate, and feel assured that I will be getting in, rather than wasting your early decision bargain off a great- highly selective school. Those scores that she has falls in the same category as the accepted pile and the rejected pile.

apply where you want to - if your score's really going to jump you have a great shot. Else, you'll at least be true to yourself.

if you really like princeton and if you're sure that it's your first choice, then definitely apply ED. I think you have a great chance! VERY few ppl have taken Calc AB and BC b4 senior year and gotten 5's on the APs. Also, your grades and SAT II's are fabulous!
I agree with everybody else that princeton is extremely competitive, but I think that with your stats, you can get into other schools (even Ivies!) RD so don't bother with Cornell or Georgetown early.

People it's Johns Hopkins not John Hopkins.

Don't apply to any school ED unless you are 100 percent certain it is the school for you. Otherwise, you're stuck. That said, if you can pull your SATI scores up, you have a good shot with your great AP scores and SATII scores. From what some Princeton students have told me, Princeton loves students that love Princeton, so ED would be a good idea if you know you would fit in well there.
