I tested out of econ 1 and 2, but am not qualified for econ 11 because I have not taken Math 31B.

As an entering Pre-Biz Econ major who would (ideally) like to take some sort of econ class in his first quarter, is it worth it for me to enroll in econ 41 with brown or should i just wait it out for a quarter and wait for a different teacher?

The material in Econ 41 seems pretty basic, so I don't know if bruinwalk is to be trusted on this one (how hard can brown really make it?)

Hm, didn't know that Brown taught 41. I didn't hear positive things about him from friends who took 101 with him. But you're right, Econ 41 is basically a rehash of AP stats and not at all difficult, so maybe it doesn't matter which professor teaches it. I had Kyriazidou, who was really straightforward in her exams. I ended up getting an A+ (average on her midterm was like a B+).

To be honest, the bizecon major can be finished really quickly, so I don't know if you need to be in a rush to start on those classes. Then again, if you really want to get an econ class in, I don't think econ 41 is the type of class that can be that bad. But don't take my word for it.

I have noticed that the bizecon major (at least the prep requirements) seem to be very light...all I have left is math 31B, econ 41, 11, and 101, and a couple of management classes [i believe]...is there a reason for this?

Is it common for pre-bizecon freshmen and sophomores to peruse other degree programs b/c of the lack of required classes?

really? it seems like there's time for more than just a minor...granted, the other major would have to be pretty light as well...my concern is that I don't get the standard to enter the major as a junior, so making good progress on another major seems plausible and realistic...

I'm doing an double major with English - It fits. And that's with including space for college/departmental honors classes and learning another language from scratch instead of just bumping up one of my other ones. So yeah, you can fit another major in.
