I got a 1160 (kinda low I know) and a 3.9 weighted, 3.6 unweighted and applied to NB SAS do you think my kinda high gpa will somewhat make up for my sat score? Still in process, very frustrated
did u apply for EOf program? If you did, you will have higher chance
@statboys99 whats EOF
@student20182 Educational Opportunity Fund, only for in state students
@statboys99 my parents make over $500k so I don’t think I would qualify for that
I strongly believe that Rutgers weighs GPA and class rank more than SAT scores. A kid in my school got accepted in SAS with 1100 SAT and an almost perfect GPA. He is ranked 5th in my school. However, I believe if you apply to Engineering and Pharmacy, your SAT scores play an imperative role.
On the other hand, NJIT waitlisted him for the same major: Computer Science.
He should have taken the ACT instead. He would probably have done fine. You can actually study for it.
I would have to say gpa over SAT. My son has a 5.4 weighted gpa. He did take four years of PLTW in engineering and was accepted into the mechanical/aerospace engineering program. His SAT was only 1250, but he did score higher in math than English.
I should say he also was accepted to UMD, UDel, FSU, and USF. My guess would be all of them weight GPA heavier because his SATs weren’t very strong.
