Seems like a lot of heard. So if you haven’t heard yet, are you probably rejected, or do they keep notifying through March?

I know a lot of majors that haven't heard anything yet. But I think it's safe to say that chances are growing slimmer by the minute. Last year, it seems that mostly everyone who was rejected was rejected on the 15th! And most students who received notifications after that date had been denied. So I'd say that this is the week.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Are you a student there already since you know what happened last year?

No, I just read some posts from 2007. I'm a hopeful applicant who hasn't heard a thing! :(

hang in there everyone. An hour ago my calpoly portal said no decision has been made. I just checked it and I've been admitted for journalism, so they're definitely still notifiying. BTW I applied on Dec. 1st, so maybe they are notifiying people as to when they applied.

did you recieve an email from them regarding your admission or was it just on the portal?

it was just on the portal. As everyone else has said, when I went to the portal this morning I had 3 columns, not just 1, and the other columns had information for accepted students. When I went to the status page it said "congratulations...." No email yet.

I got an email before hand and never checked my portal. I only checked the portal after I had been accepted.

i found out on the portal about a day or two before i got the email

Still no email, so keep checking your portal.

I'd guess they are getting close. It would hardly be fair to open housing up for sign ups when some students haven't even been accepted yet.

^ Agreed :/

NJLAXfan.....what do you mean there were three columns? Can you describe what that is? I still am "no decision has been made" ... but I have other tabs on the site ... is that the 3 columns you're referring to?

it must be since the housing app opens on friday. it makes me sad because i still have quite a few friends that are waiting to hear.. :(

onlyliv.. look at the third column.. on the far right.. does it say somethin about accepted students?!

if you look back at some of my previous post.. i wrote a huge description about what the portal looks like when you get admitted

I dont think they are done admitting people just yet i got mine late last night so theres still a chance

What is your major and stats? :)

I heard they are planning to bring in fewer new students this year and they have added a new dorm..........

wait what!!!!! Is that from a reliable source??

I was on campus this morning (Friday 3/14) for the 11:10 tour. The first year student housing question was brought up by several parents (none of the kids in the tour seemed to care, as I think they were mostly hs jrs. considering CP for '09).

Tour Guides said;
CP must accept more first years for fall 2008 than last year due to a previous agreement with ??? I didn't hear who or what. (One prof I spoke with later confirmed that yes, they will be enrolling more students for fall '08)
The new housing (huge sprawling construction project) is not complete yet, but some 1,200 will be open for fall 2008, mainly for 2nd year students, which will free up 1,200 elsewhere for new students.
Last years online sign-up WAS a disaster. Big change this year is you must agree to enroll in order to sign up for housing, which will prevent people from "holding" a room just on the chance they might attend. CP knows many students won't sign up yet if they are waiting on other school's decisions. So those who are definitely attending CP and enroll once accepted should have no trouble with on-campus housing. -->That's the plan anyway.
Of the three tour guides, none ever had on-campus housing, all said that getting off campus housing was simple.
--->This info was from tour guides, they all suggested calling admissions if you had follow-up questions.
--->The info session probably went over this more accurately but I decided to leave and look at other things before that started, I'm not worried about housing.
Said there are virtual housing tours online.
Said NO housing tours, except during Open House in April.

Nice day. Sunny, cool and breezy. Nice campus, (I'd never been there before) lots of friendly students all relieved that today was last class day of the winter quarter. Next week is finals for them.
