Title says it all. And what do they have to do and their responsibilities.

I would say don’t do it unless you are truly dedicated to your class. If you’re doing it just for a leadership position, you’re better off finding one elsewhere because class office generally requires a lot of work. If you don’t like your class, the work won’t be worth it.

What does SC do? Like what activities and is it a popularity contest like everyone says online

It is extremely different per school. Most will focus a lot on fundraising. You’ll organize many car washes and bake sales and anything else where you get a profit. There are a lot of things you’ll have to do for school activities, too, for example if your school does pep rallies.

You need to ask people in the student council at your own school. The responsibilities vary so much per school and per position. If you’re not comfortable asking them because you don’t know them, ask a class sponsor if you have one.

But is it truly worth my time? I am an outgoing person who wants to lead ANYTHING heheh and the only option for freshman is Grade Representatives.

At my school, all they do is choose themes for school dances.

Each school’s student council is different. You won’t find any specific answers for your school on here unless, of course, someone from your school is on this website.

I would do it if I were you. Outgoing is good, I don’t know how the lecton process goes in your school, but ours isn’t that competitive, and some positions are handed out.

I’m the president of my StuCo and I love it. If you’re doing it just for the college application, don’t. StuCo is one of those things that rewarding on college applications, but for good reason, it’s a lot of work, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not someone who wants to get involved and help your school and community.

My StuCo can pretty much do whatever it wants, but the things that we focus on are completely planning Dances (And the homecoming game) from the ground up, themes, set up, advertising, then we do random fundraising things throughout the year such as a cafe cart during homeroom, passing period annoyance of music, and gags in the classrooms, then we do all of the assemblies, keep campus morale up (random signs, spirit days and weeks), organize the other clubs, approve all fundraisers and spending, and perform a huge amount of service. And this is just what a StuCo does at a 7-12 school of 400. I imagine that a StuCo at a regular high school of a couple thousand does so much more.

My school has 1500 people in it. Any tips on being elected? We have nomination papers and a week and then speeches.
