Is Taking Another AP Exam Worth the AP Scholar Award?

Hi! I’m a senior in high school and am taking two AP courses and their exams this school year (Chemistry and Music Theory). I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to take another (or more) AP exam so I could qualify for the AP Scholar Award (I was thinking about doing the U.S. History exam since I took our school’s non-AP course for the subject and it would help me get some required credits for college). I guess I could write it on applications for internships (I plan on majoring in mechanical engineering) and stuff of that sort, but what better would that do me? I guess the question I’m asking is would the award be worth taking another exam for?

No. If you’re a senior, you cannot declare that you are an AP Scholar until after you’ve taken the tests, which is after you’ve submitted all your college apps. No real point, and as for internships, no one really cares about AP Scholar.

You don’t even need the “as for internships” qualifier. Nobody (except the student and maybe the parents) cares about AP Scholar. So no, it’s not worth ti.
