<p>But I’m dying to know: how do you know you’d get 31 if you took it again? That seems like a really valuable skill. If I had it, I wouldn’t be wasting time on internet message boards. I’d be buying lottery tickets!</p>

ACT of 30 is compares to SAT of 1980</p>

<p>There isn’t a big difference between a 30 and a 31. It all comes down to the rest of your application. That would include gpa, extra curriculars etc.</p>
<p>According to Wikipedia, a 30 puts you in the ~95%ile, and a 31 puts you in the 97%ile. Is it worth retaking and spending $50 and 4 hours for one extra point? Might as well go for a 36 or not retake it at all.</p>
