I was wondering if UCSD has a bike scene? UC Davis has a huge bike scene, and everyone rides their bikes not only around town but also on campus grounds to get from class to class since their campus is so huge. Do students there at UCSD ride their bikes to campus if they live in one of the off campus apartments, or would I feel out of place if I bring my bicycle to school?

Is UCSD a bike friendly school?

The more and more I learn about UCSD, the more and more I'm beginning to fall in love with this school, especially since their science and engineering programs are so incredibly strong.

The bike scene here is of course not like Davis’s, but you definitely won’t feel out of place riding a bike – I ride my bike to almost all of my classes, as do a number of people.

La Jolla itself is a great place for bike riding – lots of bike lanes.

Lots of people bike at UCSD ! I feel its a very bike friendly school, i bike to almost all my classes........the only drawback is that from where i live, evrything is uphill, so when ur late 4 class, it isnt really fun.....

But biking down to the nearest beach on weekends is VERY worth it !

longboard skateboards are really popular and i bought one at the skate/surf shop on campus and really like it. i do see bikes, but its not a huge thing on campus because the terrain is somewhat bike-unfriendly.

It makes for good exercise though. :) I was anticipating having to run in the mornings to stay in shape, but all the hilly cycling gives me enough exercise for the day.

lol ive seen the unicycle!
yeah ive wanted to get a longboard... but they are more that i can afford right now.. and plus i dont know how to ride one! but it looks fun =D
