Is There a Chance My Acceptance Will Be Rescinded?

Senior year of high school can be extremely difficult with all the AP courses that students take. If I have a C in AP Calculus AB and mostly Bs in my other AP classes, will my acceptance to nursing school be rescinded? The digression in my grades from my sophmore and junior years in high school is not caused from “senioritis!” I really do make the effort to ask my teachers for help and attend tutoring, but it has been really difficult keeping my grades up in my classes this year. I hope you can relate! I appreciate any insight!

Which school(s)? Have you been accepted? If so, what is their provisional admission requirements?

How much of a digression in grades from senior year compared to previous years? Is your course load much more rigorous than previous years? Are you struggling in courses that are related to your area of interest? It really will depend on which school you are accepted to and where the line is for them for rescission of acceptances. For RD schools who are reviewing the application with the benefit of mid-year reports prior to making a decision, it may concern them you are not ready for the rigor of college work at some schools. It really depends on how selective the school is and whether you were well above their admission standards or right on the bubble.

I’ve been accepted to two small private colleges with nursing programs. My course is much rigorous than previous years, as I am taking 4 APs, and I have been averaging at a 4.27 but this year I might be ranging from anywhere between 3.8 - 4.0. I am taking anatomy, which is related to my area of study, but it is my only non-AP class, so it is manageable.

You will be fine. Keep working hard and try to stay in that B range as much as possible.

As one poster on CC often says, avoid D’s, F’s and felonies.

And congrats on getting into the nursing programs!

There’s a few of us that say that, and it’s solid advice.
