I took them back in January (junior year) and got a total score of 1800. This was with no studying/prep whatsoever. I am positive I could do better, and I have the time this summer to study. I am virtually positive that I am going to Penn State University Park, and an 1800 is in about the 30-40th percentile. My Gpa is about a 4.25 weighted, so that definitely works in my favor. I know I will get into PSU, but I can't decide if it is necessary for me to take SATs again? Any advice would be appreciated

If you didn’t study at all, I would definitely take it again in October. Who knows, maybe with a month or two of intense studying, you can get a 2000+ and possibly score some scholarship money.

Right, It’ll probably take me one whole summer and half the year to score a 1800 lol. You should study and retake it just to see what score you’ll get.

With a higher score you could be in the running for a merit scholarship.

I would take them again, because if you want to be present the best possible application to colleges. and just knowing you got the score you (deserve) in a sense is worth it

I would take them again just once. couldn’t hurt

As long as you do better, the amount of money you save on college will probably easily outweigh the cost of the test.
