is there a tap/tag program for people who are in uc's but want to go to another uc???

something that you can lean on as far as getting into another uc

i just transferred from a ccc to a uc, but i want to transfer to another uc, is there some kind of program that gives you the same "guarantee" as tap/tag

thx

No uc to uc transfer is very difficult I hear. You can look at the stats for ucla on it’s website. Unless you have a very compelling reason ie I left my child in la to come study at ucsc please let me transfer to ucla I think it’s going to be out of the question with more than 2 years credit completed once you hit 90 semester units i think you can’t do it anymore. Sorry I don’t know more but I know there is alot of uc to uc transfer information on this board if you use the search function. Good luck an if you don’t mind me asking which uc are you at and why do you want to transfer?

I don’t think you can transfer to another UC after you’ve just transferred to a UC. You probably have around 60-70 transferred units from your CCC and you can’t transfer from a UC to a UC if you have more than 90 units. UC to UC transfers are common and not difficult. UC GPA scale makes applicants’ GPA seem lower because A- B- count. I also believe TAP and TAG programs are for community college students.

i see

so you can still transfer if you have less than 90 semester units (135 quarter units)??

For GE’s there is. UC Reciprocity lets you do all your GE’s at you starting UC, and if they’re finished before you leave, your new UC will honor that.

In terms of a Tap program that guarantees admission to a new UC; that only exists @ UCM. You can transfer anywhere you want after two years at UCM. however, this is available to only UCM students (well, obviously).

I agree with the above posters though, I don’t know how you’ll be able to not go over your 90 unit cap.

Sure, if you’re below the unit cap you could still apply for transfer, but there are certainly no guarantees and it’s slightly more difficult. If you wanna talk more you should bring it into the official UC to UC transfer thread! It’s where all the fun’s happening. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/726410-official-2010-uc-uc-transfer-thread.html</a></p>
