I’ll be a senior this fall and I’m going to take Japanese 2 in the spring at a university. The problem is the class won’t begin until mid January and won’t end until May, so it won’t be on my high school or college transcript. A mid year report won’t be available on time. How will colleges know I’m taking Japanese 2 in the spring especially if I apply for EA? Heck if I apply for EA then even the Japanese 1 course I’m taking in the fall won’t show up on my transcript since it won’t end till December.
The college I want to go to requires 3 years of a foreign language. Since only college Japanese 2 will equal level 3 language, the college has to know I’m taking it in the spring or I’ll be auto-denied. .
If the college uses the Common App, you list all your senior year courses on it. Other applications may be similar.

Will colleges know that this is college Japanese I’m taking? I believe College Japanese semester 2 = HS level 3 language .I don’t want colleges to think this is HS level 2 Japanese because then I won’t meet the 3 years requirement.
I forgot to mention, it allows you to list courses by trimester/semester, so obviously you’d list it under Spring.
They will if you label it as such. E.g. "Japanese II (@XYZ University)
List it where you have to not to be auto denied. At private colleges be careful. I asked the register why my Sipring AP classes are not on the transcript that they send in the fall. She said if they list it and you end up not taking or dropping it then they have to explain to the colleges why, if they never mention it until you take it then no problem
