Just nervous :/ thanks in advance if anyone can provide some insight to my situation. I tried hard freshman year and really took difficult courses in 10th grade. My counselor told me halfway through last year to reconsider some courses since I had one of the toughest courseloads but I never did. I chose similarly hard classes this year but studied waaay smarter. Is it still considered a downward trend or would they understand a lower gpa as a result of my 10th grade? Thank youuuuuuuuuu

i’m just a high school junior, but what classes did you take? obviously you got A’s in rigorous courses otherwise your weighted gpa wouldn’t be so high. however, uw looks at unweighted gpa only to my knowledge, and a 3.52 is about .1 GPA below the 25th percentile. however, this is only one part of the picture. have strong test scores, ecs, and essays.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah this year I took 5 APs one g/t and an honors spanish. I wasn’t aware that uw only looks at unweighted gpa though, so thanks for that piece if info. Im hoping my ecs and sat should balance it all out.

I think you should probably be fine, especially if your sophomore course load was significantly more rigorous than the norm at your school. I had a similar experience (AP English Lang in sophomore year is a terrible idea) and I got into UW with a similar grade trend, except with fewer Bs sophomore year, and one B junior year.

Thanks, that definitely makes me feel better (:
