Is this a good idea for a transfer? Has anyone majored or is majoring Human Biology?

Hello, my name is Eli (nickname). I will be attending UC Santa Cruz this fall 2014 as an undergraduate student. Before applying, I loved everything about UC Santa Cruz. There is one problem though that has came up. I knew before accepting the offer admission that they didn't have a dietetics major at UC Santa Cruz. However, for a back up, I could just major in Computer Science. I have an extreme passion for dietetics or food/nutrition. In addition, that was what was holding me out not to attend this university. I did see that they offered "Human Biology" major of a bachelor's degree. One of the careers I can get out of it is if I was to further continue my school with Human Biology, I could transfer to another university and become a R.D. (Registered Dietitian). My aunt told me not to worry about my major, but to remember that the average college student changes their major about five times before their junior year. I was wondering if anyone has majored or is currently majoring in Human Biology.

I have another question. Would it be a smart idea to get my major in what I would like to pursue and then transfer to a California State College like Sacramento State or Cal Poly? Or, do you think it a smarter idea to just apply to a UC?

depends on which one is cheaper. state schools are all the same besides some with a highlight in a certain field. you would be better off studying general bio as it gives you more opportunities.

if you want to be an RD why mess around when you can just work towards it? i would personally just choose to go to a school that offered my major if that was an option for me, as transfering can be rather stressful
