Is this a good schedule for junior year? I can still change it around I just ne

I'm taking
Precalculus Honors
AP Lang
AP USH
AP GOV
AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
AP Human Geography
SPANISH 3 honors
And lastly I will be taking a course at my local community college that counts for high school credit and it is transferable for college credit.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
I live in NC, so my goal is to get in schools like UNC Chapel Hill, NC State, maybe Duke, and other NC schools. I might apply to some out of state reach schools but I'm not sure.

That’s a very rigorous schedule, if you can handle it, then that’d be excellent. AP Lang and APUSH together seems like a killer in terms of the workload, but someone who had been given the opportunity to take all those APs in the first place is most likely someone who can handle the workload. :)

I’m not taking AP GOV twice. I’m actually taking AP human geography in place of one of those

AP Lang at my school is considered an easy A. APUSH is what I’m worried about, but I’m a very hard worker.

I feel like AP Language needs to be rigorous in order for it to be helpful. It was because my teacher refused to hand out high 90’s as essays that I pushed myself to improve my writing and increase my vocabulary and work on my syntactical style. I always felt like AP Language was the most helpful/beneficial of all the APs, I don’t see how it can be if it’s an “easy A” at your school. But then again, what do I know? LOL. Your school could have a stellar program with tons of people getting qualifying scores.

APUSH was the only AP I took as a Sophomore. It killed me. I’m actually dead right now. Nah, but it in all seriousness, the workload was nothing short of completely overwhelming. I ended up with a 90 and a 4 on the exam, but I had never worked so hard in a class in my life. I took three APs as a Junior, including AP World, and their workload combined wasn’t even comparable to APUSH.

I will be taking AP USH, AP Lamg, and AP Environmental all in the same semester, because my school does a 4 by 4 schedule. I also have Precalculus this semester which worries me because math is sadly my weakness. Do you think that is way too much?

Math is my worst subject as well - but I really liked Pre-Calculus and did much better in Pre-Cal than I did in Algebra II. I took AP World, AP Lang, and AP Environmental my junior year - it was manageable and I ended up with A’s in all of them by the end of the year. I think with hard work, nothing is “too much.”

Thanks for your tips! I got a 91 in my algebra 2 class which is a B where I’m from and it was my only B all sophomore year.

Bump

4x4?!
high five
Never met anyone else with the same schedule.

Lol, you’ll never get into Duke, even with that nice schedule.

You’ve got no sports :stuck_out_tongue:
JK, nice schedule

Thanks Apollo…

Just don’t bite off more than you can chew. If you’re busy outside of school with extracurriculars, I’d advise seriously considering dropping one of the APs that is not one of the most important to to you. For example, I’m in marching band, so the first three months of school are insane for me since I don’t have a lot of spare time. Afterwords, everything is fine. Regardless, anything is accomplishable if you devote your time and truly apply yourself. Have fun with those classes. (._.)

Yea, I hope I can handle it all. I’ve actually decided to take one of my Ap’s online through the Virtual Public School my state provides.
