Is this a good sign? Financial aid information

I got an email from Princeton 4 days ago to provide my mom’s income statement/non tax filer statement. I filled out all the online financial application way earlier and indicated that my mom doesn’t really have a tangible earning source. Is this a sign of interest in my application that so close to the decision date they would ask for more financial aid information? (I had already provided them with all information) PS, they asked me to fill out the form that enrolled students use.

I received similar emails. There has been a lot of positive correlation in the past. Just keep your fingers crossed.

its a good sign!

really? Oh my God. I hope we all get in. Lol

Incorrect, it’s a nothing sign. In the past people thought there was a correlation, but in the past year it seems like there has been less of one. For example, with the scea people this year, I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a correlation.
That being said, it isn’t a bad thing either and good luck!

oh well. we’ll see. there are only five days left anyway.

@18Dylan18 btw have you already been admitted to Princeton or are you an applicant?

@shahalizay35‌ I was admitted SCEA this year

@18dylan18 Wow congratulations. Thats so amazing!!
I have a 2100 on my SAT with a 770 on CR, 750s in my SAT2s, Straight A*s on all my transcript. (physics, math, chem, leadership, robotics, eng lang, german lang) . Ive created this transistor-less inverter. I work with the government for the electrification of off-grid rural villages in my country (thats what my common app essay was about). Ive won regional archery and shooting competitions. Ive also created my robotics, astronomy, research (about the viability of solar energy in off grid sector) organisations. Done tons of internships and have a class rank of 1/685, and GPA 4. Attended Columbia summer program. Do you think I’ve got a shot at Princeton?

Thank you!!
What country are you from? (I know that’s grammatically incorrect but "From which country are you? Sounds very weird, ha.) Honestly I think you have a decent shot. Princeton likes having people from a bunch of countries, so a lot of it depends on the quality of other applicants from your country. If they think you’re a better fit than the others, that would boost your chances a lot. The thing is, it depends a lot on your essays and teacher recs, and having a 2100 SAT probably weakens your application some. Is English your first language? (If not, they may not judge as harshly, I don’t know)
But best of luck to you! You do sound like you have a chance, although nothing is for certain with these schools. Just gotta hope and wait until judgment day. Hope you post your admissions decision and best of luck!

Thanks. English isn’t my first language. Im from Pakistan. If you don’t mind I’d like to know what was the most prominent thing about your profile? Like I would say that inventing that transistor-less inverter that my columbia professor approved of and working with the Government for electrification of off-grid rural villages was the best thing about me. what was the best thing in your app?

@shahalizay35 Hi, did u get an email from FA office on feb 12 as well?
cuz some people got an email at that time reminding them that they have not yet submitted their fa applications.
And did they ask u for ur tax forms as well?

@jasonkos No I didn’t get it on 12th Feb. I randomly looked at their site and filed out everything. I sent them the tax forms myself. And they confirmed it when I asked if they had all my stuff.

I built a chess team for our school from scratch and we got 4th at the national k-12 championship for our age group, and I tied for 3rd individually, so that probably helped me stand out. I also had a very good chess-related essay where I talked about why I like it and offered my perspective on it and why it’s useful and how it applies to other parts of my life. That and my supplement essay, people said were really good and I think they were good too. Actually my friend who got into 4 ivys said that one was c the best he’s read, so that probably helped, and my teacher recs were really good. I met with my guidence counselor a lot and she connected me to one of her engineering friends who talked to me about engineering and he also plays chess and I know she was impressed by me.
I don’t know, probably just solid all-around and then chess stuff helped me to stand out I presume.

I can see why they’d want to have you, lol. My counsellor rec was super good and so were my teacher recs, especially my physics rec because my physics teacher was also my research mentor and one of the first people to confirm the design on my inverter. He supervised me for three years, so he knew everything really well. My commonapp was good - my counsellors thought it was really good and they thought my sup were extremely good (esp the book quote one, lol). I only have A*s on my transcripts, but I’m worried about my SATs.

Every one seems to have much higher scores then I do.
