Is this a "likely" letter?

Dear **********,

A campus visit is a vital part of the college selection process. While print brochures and websites can provide all the statistics and history about a school that you could ever want, there is no substitute for walking across the lawns, sitting in on the classes, talking and eating with current students, and sampling the social life for determining if a school is a good fit for you.

I would like to formally invite you to visit the Washington & Lee University campus at our expense to help you make a fully informed decision about your college plans. I have scheduled a group visit for Thursday, March 13th through Saturday, March 15th. You will stay overnight with a student host, and take part in a full schedule of activities including a campus tour, panel discussions on issues such as diversity and financial aid, opportunities to attend classes, individual meetings with coaches and/or representatives of any extracurricular organizations in which you may want to participate at college, and a variety of social events to allow you ample time to meet and mingle with current Washington & Lee students.

Ok.. I applied to Washington and Lee, and it turns out that my app was incomplete (I didn't send them SAT II scores and my midyear report has not yet been sent). But I am not quite sure what to make of this letter??

Not exactly a likely letter - but darn exciting for you - a paid trip/invite to go there to take a looksee - they are interested for sure - they don't offer this to all applicants - but it is a very strong good sign. Are you going to go???

Anything that you don't have in yet - you need to get it there ASAP - well that is if you are still interested in going there :) Any other acceptances yet??

not really a likely letter, although the paid trip is nice

It is my understanding that College Board sends SAT I and SAT II scores together in the same report. This means that you wouldn't have to send one SAT I report AND one SAT II report. So if you sent an SAT score report, I'm pretty sure they got your subject test scores.

Also, some schools haven't finished their first semester/term yet, so I wouldn't worry about the midyear report, just as long as you send it sometime soon.

Congrats, I got a similar thing for another college and it's pretty fun/informative. People highly recommend campus visits when making college choices, so it's nice that they're paying for you to go.

Good luck!

i don't think it's a likely letter, but they wouldn't be paying for you to go out there if you were about to be rejected. either wait-list/accept

Be sure to go! What a fantastic opportunity for you to experience the campus first hand.

Not a likely letter, but a nice opportunity to get a free look.

From above: "It is my understanding that College Board sends SAT I and SAT II scores together in the same report. This means that you wouldn't have to send one SAT I report AND one SAT II report. So if you sent an SAT score report, I'm pretty sure they got your subject test scores."

I think what the OP may be saying is that he has not yet sent SAT II scores for tests he likely took after he had already sent the SAT. CB sends all scores it has on file for you at time when requested to send, but subsequent scores do not go unless another request is made.

Letter is not really a likely letter, and if you have not yet submitted all required materials you better do so to be actually considered for admission. Paid expense visit programs exist at a number of colleges, although they are generally for minorities and recruitment of same (don't know if that is the OPs case). They do not assure admission.

I didn't send my SAT II scores, but not only did I get accepted, I got also got offered a full ride!
