I got almost the same letter this year.
I hope it’s a good sign.

anyway my friend who applied EA to Notre Dame
received almost the same letter.
but he asked for no FA
so the letter asked him to send documents to verify that he really can pay the tuition.

I think at least it is a good sign.

I also have another friend (Early Action )who received a letter requesting for FA documents
but the way they asked was entirely different.
they tone was ordinary and “cold”

guess the result?

the first friend get in to Notre Dame, and the second did not.

i got this letter too…and im an international…any other international got this letter?..soo is it really a likely letter?..coz notre dame is one of my top choices :D

mercury , i am also an intnl student and got it too.
I dont think it means anything and here are people posting above who gave some positive examples simply because this is a sub-forum for ND. Whats the point for people who got rejected to keep visiting and posting here?
Anyway, its just my thought. Despite whatever it means, there is nothing we can do but waiting right?

very good point WLMzzz … where are you from? we should keep in touch … and yep waiting is the only thing to do it seems…but it just get on my nerves sometimes…the tension and stuff…im sure you understand

I’m also an international and I got the same e-mail. I understand what WLMzzz is saying but I’ve got a nagging feeling that this e-mail does mean something.

Unlike the other e-mails I have received from various colleges, this one had an overly optimistic tone to it with an inordinate amount of !!!.

Maybe I’m clutching at straws here… I will say this though, if I do ultimately get rejected, I’m going to be a lot more disappointed than I would have been had I not been sent this e-mail.

CC veterans, please chime in with your opinions.

Are you guys getting FAFSA verification letters or is this something different? Because I think each school selects 30% of applicants and is required to verify their financial info. This is done when you have estimated your parents income, or you failed to fill something out and it is incomplete or sometimes it is just done randomly. If that is what this is, don’t read anything into it. And anyway, what’s the point? The waiting is almost over. Good Luck to all of you.

Being an international, I had to fill out ISFAA forms. The e-mail asked me to send further documentation of the financial info I had listed in my certificate of finances.
