Is this a really bad idea?

A while ago I met the Dean of Lehigh at a college fair and he was very helpful and nice to me.

After the college fair I sent an email...like a thank-you email. He replied back with more information about the college. Anyway, I'm not gonna bore you guys w/ details, but...I wanna wish him a Happy New Year. Like, send him a brief email saying that. Is that TOO personally? Should I not do it?

Bump…

I wouldn’t recommend it. If you have a question about your application then go ahead and e-mail him and add an ending that says “Happy New Years”, but I wouldn’t send him an e-mail saying just that. Unless you guys e-mail a lot, and he would know you by name if he say you, it isn’t appropriate.

If you haven’t yet replied back to his email with college information, it would be fine to reply with a thanks and add “happy new year” at the bottom, but if you’re already replied and/or it’s been a while since that email, it’s probably not a good idea to do it.
