Should I send the colleges I applied to an email or gift of any sort?

I applied to my colleges this evening and was wondering if it would be a good idea to email the admissions team something on the line of ‘Thank you for reviewing me’ or ‘I hope to see you next fall’.
And/or Should I send something more like a token of appreciation (flowers, chocolate, fruit assortment?)

Thanks!

You could try, but it wouldn’t help. This is business, not a social transaction. They’re doing their jobs and are, presumably, well paid for it. So no, there’s no need for you to send them anything.

It’s their job to review you. Don’t annoy them w unnecessary emails. Sending a gift is improper.

Creepy to send a gift. And the email is just more stuff to read, likely to annoy more than help.

The only email that should be sent is one that says “Update for SeanLeu” in the heading and includes information such as:

  1. your grades at the end of first semester senior year
  2. any new honors or awards
  3. any material change in your status (graduating early, classes added or dropped)
  4. The statement, if it is honest, that this school is my first choice and if I am admitted and can afford to attend, I will definitely come.

Gifts are indeed weird and inappropriate.

Lol, the application fee in my opinion is a big donation enough.

Money works. Usually $10 million or more.

They won’t accept your gifts anyways and might have a negative impression of you if you try to send them anything, and I think emails should be reserved for your interviewer, not for the admissions team.
