Is This a Scam?

I entered a poem of mine in a contest for poetry.com, and I got a letter saying they want to publish my poem in their new book, and that I am under no obligation to pay any money. But, how am I supposed to know if the poem got in there if I don't get the book (50 bucks)??? I dunno what to do.

I've heard that poetry.com is some form of a scam, but I'm not sure because I haven't tried it out yet. I think there was an older thread about this. Search through the archives to find out.

just looked it up.
looks like a complete scam to me.

it is a scam. everyone is a semi-finalist; they just want to collect the money for you buying there books.

Yep, it's a scam alright. I remember entering in that competition and I got letters telling me that my poem got in the semi-finals but then they started sending me emails about the convention to get a trophy but I have to pay like 600 bucks. Funny part was that the website said everything is free...HA, don't believe that. That website is nothing but a scam but luckily, I never fell for it.
