On my Olin Portal, there's a link to the enrollment deposit. On some other college portals (e.g. Georgia Tech and USC) these sorts of things happen when an applicant's status is changed to admitted, and are accidental giveaways that the applicant has been admitted. Is this the case with the link to the enrollment deposit on Olin's page?

Admissions decisions will not be made until all the Candidates’ Weekends are over. I think this is a fluke…sorry.

Give them a deposit…see what happens. Only really 4 scenarios:

1 - The link won’t work,
2 - It’s there for everyone (most likely the case), in which case see #1
3 - You are in (and they keep the deposit if you don’t go to Olin) or
4 - it’s a mistake, (and they immediately refund your money).

If you really want to go there, it would definitely confirm interest. No down side to it (unless MIT or someplace else calls), in which case you chalk up the $500 (?) to experience and move on.

kyoakyoa - do you still have the link available? My daughter used to have it but it has disappeared now.

Just FYI: The link doesn’t work and is no indication of whether or not you’ve been accepted. It is simply a part of our portal. Actual decisions will be mailed out on March 19th to domestic students, and will be available on the portal for everyone on March 21.

If you have any questions, it’s always best to email apply@olin.edu for accurate and up to date information.

Thanks!

OlinAdmission - Thank you for clarifying it. Agreed that it’s better to check with the source.
