I am an international student from Pakistan who does not know ANYTHING about the education system in the US so don't go all crazy on me!
I want to ask what is the difference between secondary school report and transcript. And what are the exact contents of the two?

If I remember correctly, the secondary school report is sort of like a profile of your high school. Your guidance office or counselors should have one prepared already for college admissions. The transcript is a record of your grades in high school.

Edit: Also, please don’t post two topics asking the same thing.

Thanks. But if that’s correct, then I don’t have to submit my transcript because on all the college websites, they only require the secondary school report. And finally, some schools like Harvard requires me to submit the mid term school report by February also so that they know what my latest grades are. But my high school finishes in October. Does that mean I donot have to submit the mod term school report?

SSR and transcript are the same thing. The school profile is a separate report about your HS, detailing the classes offered, the way grades are assigned, average SAT scores for different quin-tiles, etc, etc- in other words- something to compare you to other students at YOUR school. You have to make sure that the HS submits all your transcripts, SSR’s , grades, which includes the mid term report[ or in your case the end of year report from Oct. [ That means you are finished with HS in Oct, correct?]. Assume that the colleges want all the information about you they can possibly receive , and don’t make the mistake of thinking someone else will provide it[ i.e your counselor, etc, etc]. With college applications, the applicant [ YOU] is the one held responsible in the end for making sure the colleges have all the documentation they require or ask for.

Wow, I should’ve really google’d that one. Sorry about that. >_<

How close are you to the EducationUSA offices in Pakistan? There are several: [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Pakistan) You do not have to do this all on your own. Make an appointment with the counselors at the closest advising center, and ask for them to help you. They are the experts at helping students in Pakistan work their way through the application process.

thanks happymomof1 this really helped. I’ll be going to them soon.
