I take all honors and get A's and occasional B's. I always have considered my math, social studies, English, science, and foreign language grades as obviously the most important. Sometimes my GPA is brought down by a class like religion or health. Often times I'm busy trying so hard to get A's in the other classes, that I don't have time to study for these elective classes. Will this make me look like a careless student or in the end, when colleges re-calculate my gpa once I apply will these classes be dropped?

Not sure what your question is. They definitely give good grades in core courses more consideration than those in elective courses, but they definitely are not dropped from your GPA, otherwise what’s the point of taking them?

Some colleges will recalculate your GPA, others will just look at your classes and the rigor involved, others will use what the HS gives them as the GPA.
