Is this good advice for my student regarding Chemistry test

My daughter is taking the AP Chemistry test in May–she is taking both Chem II and Organic Chemistry this year. Their teacher said that the Chem 2 class will basically be over when they take the AP test, especially since there are quite a few seniors in there who will be done with school. I think it is a great idea to register for the Chemistry subject matter test, b/c they will be prepped anyway and will have all that additional time to study. Does that seem like a good idea–my daughter respects a forum response more than my bright ideas!

Yes, at least I think so and I signed up my child who is taking AP Chem for Chemistry Subject Test in May. Will take it again in June if the score is not good.

My D is waiting until June to take Subject Tests. The May date is the weekend right in the middle of AP tests and I feel like that’s too much testing stress in that short period of time.

I took my subject test a month after my AP test and regretted it a little. I still got a 760, but I think the info would’ve been more fresh on my mind had I just done it the weekend after the AP test. Also, I wouldn’t consider the subject test additional studying, personally, since it is the same information. It’s more of a two birds, one stone deal to me - studying the same amount for two tests.

It was also terribly hard motivating myself to study for the subject test, considering school had already let out and I’d felt the cathartic release of “ah, no more chem” right after taking the ap test…
