Is this lame?

I'm writing an essay that asks the question...Who is the person you dream of becoming?

Is it lame if I say the person I dream of becoming is me? Sort of...a "I wanna be myself" essay. Because in all honesty, that is the truth...

Yet I don't wanna make a cheesy essay that will leave Admissions yawning...

I love the idea, personally. But you want to say what your dreams are and how you plan on accomplishing them. Unless you feel you are perfect and have nothing more to learn… What do you see yourself doing in the future - what do you want to do in your future career. Just my thoughts.

If it’s the truth and you write it from the heart, and you are a halfway decent writer, it won’t come off as cheesy. What would come off as cheesy is writing something for that question that you aren’t sincere about and just think its what they want to hear. If you write it sincerely and to the best of your ability, that’s all you can do.

^Thank you guys soooo much! :D

Even if it doesn’t come off as cheesy, it may come off as undescriptive. What, specifically, is it about yourself that you want to continue being? Describe that trait, not yourself in general.

I can see framing it in terms of being the best you possible, not giving in to peer pressure etc to be other than yourself, and acknowledging how high school years can really disrupt that self-realization process. Agreed that it is important to make it interesting to the reader. Good luck!
