Im going to my college orientation tomorrow and im wondering if it is advisable to bring a laptop to orientation. Is it needed? or should i just leave it home, its a mac book pro

leave it at home my brother. its just induction.

Glad to know the brand of laptop, because that certianly makes a differance. If it was anything but Toshiba, Asus or mac I wouldn’t bring it.(everything else is lame ya know)

Really though it couldn’t hurt to bring it. I figure for an orientation though all you’ll need is a cell phone w/ camera for quick pics, and a notebook/pen.
Every orientation process is going to be different with the schools you go to. So It might help if you make mention of the college you’ll be attending. Never know if someone around has been through the process and can let you know what to expect from that school.

Its the Boston College orientation and im still stumped

I brought mine, but I didn’t need it at the actual orientation, I just used it when I got back to the dorm (it lasts a couple of days and I never go anywhere for the night without my laptop).

I didn’t need a laptop at my orientation. I don’t think you should bring it. It’s just one more thing to keep up with.

They have computers there at college
So I think if you needed to use one for anything that was needed, they would let you…students are always going in and out of computer labs

I never go anywhere overnight without my laptop normally, but didn’t bring mine to orientation. If you NEEDED a computer for something they would take you to the computer lab, and when I was in for the night I was EXHAUSTED and went straight to bed. I’m a night owl but orientation was extremely busy, we didn’t have any downtime until pretty late at night.

At my college, orientation was more of a social event. The seminars and little lectures didn’t require a laptop or notebook. It would probably just be more of a hassle to carry the laptop bag around.

If your orientation lasts for multiple days, it might be convenient to bring your laptop for internet access at night. If it’s a one-day event, I wouldn’t bother.
