Is this "okaaay"? + Further help!

Hi, I am international student wishing to pursue my undergrads from the US. I have given the SAT-I once and this has been my score.
Math = 770
CR= 590
Writing= 580

And this is my SAT- II score
Math Level 2- 690
Physics= 650

Now Um planning to study Engineering at well reputed institutes, right now, have Gtech and Virginia tech in mind. Also I am looking for a good amount of Merit based and/or need based scholarship or financial aid.
How "okay" is that SAT score of mine? I know its not that good, I am planning to give SAT I again this October.
What can you suggest my target score to be? And should I repeat SAT II again?

Match for Virginia, but your SAT needs to improve for Georgia.

Your sat scores (aside from math) are pretty average, so unless you boost those, merit aid might be a reach. Especially if you are international. Schools are very stingy with aid for international students.

Also, your SAT II scores are low, so bring those up.

@Smargent Thanx man, But can you suggest me how far I need to raise my CR and Writing and the SAT 2 scores atleast to be a good match for Gtech?

I’d suggest getting your Math 2 above a 750+ for any of those two techs. Your math SAT is fine where it is!

@Luffy95‌ I would get your SAT IIs up to at least 750 (because they are subjects similar to your desired field) and your CR and W to at least a 700. That should be enough to match at any average school and possibly get you some aid.

More than the score, get your percentile up. When I took Math II and got an 800, it was still a 90th percentile or something. A 690 will be in the 60th or 70th percentile.

@Antarius I got a similar score before my 780, it was around 40% (meaning worse than 60%) if I recall.

How the heck can you get a 770 in SAT I math and a 690 in Math 2? Scoring high in the former is waaaay harder.

@BassGui‌tar Thanks for the data point.

To your second question - I skipped a question and promptly filled out every bubble from then on incorrectly, I got a 660 despite getting a 790 in the SAT II Math 1 and an 800 in the SAT 1 math. Retook the test and did as expected!
