is this really true?

I have heard online and from numerous people that Cornell does not weigh SAT scores as heavily as other schools. They take into account your GPA, course rigor, ECs, and especially your essays alot more than SAT scores. Has anybody else heard something like this?

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/435651-ed-2012-post-results-here-3.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/435651-ed-2012-post-results-here-3.html</a></p>

Take a look. The SATs are pretty high.

SATs are always important, but superb GRADES (NOT GPA...GPAs aren't on a national standard) can help for a less than stellar SAT. That's sort of a general rule I've seen. However, a great SAT can't make up for poor grades (i.e. 1800 of 2400 will not be made up for by all As).

would anybody say that a 3.95 or 3.96 out of 4.0 uw and 4.82 weighted GPA could make up for a 2110 SAT score? (below average (for cornell) CR score, good math and good writing
