Well from everything I hear this school has so much going for it. But a big issue is that this is a private school with a not-so national reputation in a very expensive city. Where do you go when you graduate?? Do most people live in the L.A. ghetto areas or something ... ??? I am dead serious. It seems like Disney Land for 4 years and then hell for the rest of your life ... but I could be dead wrong as I haven't talked to any graduates. Thanks.

Didn’t you post a thread saying Loyola Marymount was underrated?

The location of the school itself in L.A is divine. Sitting on a bluff, extremely close to LAX airport, and the campus is beautiful.

"It seems like Disney Land for 4 years and then hell for the rest of your life … " and I’m confused about your “ghetto” comment.

USC is in a much worse area, but much more well-respected than LMU… Anyway, it all depends on what you want to do at Loyola Marymount. I, for example, want to attend their Law school which has a very nice reputation (this is if I attend LMU). Loyola’s film and business schools are also very good.

I’m not an expert on Loyola, so I don’t want to say too much. But I do think you should give the school a chance.

Hi LMU10,

Thanks for the reply. At the time the school seemed wonderful but I have NO idea what happens to graduates. I didnt make a thread about it underrated, just a post. It looks like the school prepares its students well for life.

However, I am concerned about where graduates go after they graduate. NOT while in college. Based on the number of responses in this topic my eyebrow has risen even higher today.

Perhaps people get opportunities elsewhere and leave Los Angeles? It’s too expensive to live in a safe area with all the amenities in L.A. Not to mention, I’m not sure it has a reputation outside of this area. I’m thinking its suicide to spend money for a degree that can only be used in an “expensive or ghetto” place.

If anyone has any info please share.

maan i just wrote this huge paragraph to u and my connection went out so it all got erased : [ basically i said that barack obama went to occi, a school thats a lil better than lmu, and he got into harvard. i think it depends on how well U do. but thats kinda why i wanted to go to NYU…ppl get into good schools from there im sure cuz its like USC. if u find out the answer, PM me plz!
